Who is responsible

LiDAR Photo is developed by Omar El Affani. For any question about your data, write to omarouelaffani@gmail.com.

What the app stores, and where

The following is stored only on your device, inside the app:

• photos and, for measurement photos, the depth measured by the LiDAR scanner;
• the measurements you make (distances, areas, perimeters);
• the notes you add: text, and audio recordings of dictated notes;
• the date, the device model, the phone's orientation, the compass heading and, if you allow it, the GPS position at the time of the photo.

Permissions

Camera

Used to take photos and to measure with the LiDAR scanner. Images never leave your device.

Location

Optional. Used to group your photos by place and to show the street address of a place. To find that address, the coordinates are sent to Apple's mapping service (Apple Maps), which returns the address; this is covered by Apple's privacy policy. The developer neither receives nor keeps these coordinates. The location is never written into the photo file itself. Without this permission, the app works normally, without grouping by place.

Microphone and speech recognition

Optional. Used only for dictated notes, while you hold the note button. Transcription happens on your device; the first time, iOS may download the language model from Apple. The audio recording stays inside the app. Without this permission, you can type your notes instead.

Sharing

Nothing is shared unless you choose to. When you share an annotated photo, a PDF report or a full capture, the file is handed to the app you pick (Mail, Messages, WhatsApp, Files…) and is then subject to that app's own rules. The file may include the date, the street address, your measurements and your notes; a full capture also includes GPS coordinates and LiDAR depth data.

Retention and deletion

Your data stays on your device for as long as you keep it. You can delete any capture from the app's gallery. Deleting the app deletes all of its data. If iCloud Backup is turned on for your device, iOS may include the app's data in that backup, according to your settings.

Withdrawing a permission

At any time in Settings › LiDAR Photo: camera, location, microphone and speech recognition.

Your rights

Because your data stays on your device, the developer holds no personal data about you: there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side, and you remain in full control from the app. If you write to us by email, your message and address are used only to answer you and are deleted when no longer needed. Under the GDPR you can contact us at any time, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority — in France, the CNIL.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking, and loads no third-party fonts or scripts. It is hosted by Vercel Inc., which processes technical data such as IP addresses in its server logs to deliver and protect the site, under its own privacy policy.

Children

The app does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its update date.
